Happy New Year 2009!

New job, new apartment, new adventures!

Til then...back to sleep for now

Working life begins on Monday!   *I can hear everyone saying...finally..!*
Time to put on those working shoes and earn some moolah!

But before that, we will be going for a road trip to Coromandel!   While the marathon-ers (Shaun, Ivan, Sher Mayne & her housemate Karen) are doing the Kauri Run, the rest of us (me, Wei En and Dallas) will be cheering/jeering at the finishing line... possibly armed with some rotten eggs to throw at them muahaha!

Nah... too many sabos within the last couple of weeks that I've been back.  Time to take a break... or not? Hmm..

Anyway after a quick Google search, I found out that the organisers of this run will plant a Kauri tree along the trail for every competitor that takes part in the event!  They aim to plant 10,000 trees over the next 10 years and to create a trail of Kauri trees all the way from Waikawau to Coromandel!  That is truly a GREEN cause..

Perhaps I should seriously get myself motivated for runs.. *sniggers in the background...*

Leaving on a jetplane... (again)

Lucy

That's Lucy the dog!  The latest member to my uncle's doggie household...

She's a super cute golden retriever who's only about 8 weeks old but looks quite big already!

Too bad I won't be around to watch her grow because I'll be flying off to Auckland next Monday!~!  FINALLY it's time for me to grow up and start working... Thankfully I don't start work immediately but no more bumming around or disturbing people who are working

Meanwhile, I'm hoping for a good find on a 2 bedroom apartment and a 2nd hand car!

*crosses fingers*

EDITED - Found a decent split-level apartment in Eden Terrace!  Moving in early December - can't wait!

Baby Monroe

I'm still alive!  Can't say the same thing for my blog nor my chatterbox

Why the lack of posts?  Lots of procrastination on my side and I've been having lots of trouble loading the Xanga pages.. *excuses excuses*!

Well, for now let me distract you with this photo...

Baby Monroe

VERY cute right?

Ok ok, I have been back in Penang for about 4 days now and haven't blogged til now - talk about procrastination!  I could probably blame Xanga for not loading properly during my last few attempts at logging in.  (This encourages a move to another blog hosting site to jot down stories from my trip *TBA!*)

Besides unpacking, sleeping a lot and sorting out my photos, I haven't been doing much since getting back from my 7-week journey!  Actually getting together an album on Facebook is quite an achievement LOL.

Here it is if you haven't already seen it on Facebook -

Europe 2008

I really like some of the pics we took (there were quite a few more that I couldn't fit in the album)!

Like this one of Shaun at the Botanical Gardens in Geneva (I like the effect of the droplets)

Water boy

Maybe also because one of the photos on Facebook was thought to be taken with a professional camera... but it was actually taken with my 'normal' Panasonic digicam *proud*

So yes, it was definitely the BIGGEST trip I have ever taken in my life... super glad to have had Shaun as my "all-in-one" bf-travel mate-bodyguard-person to poke-hostel searcher-map reader, etc.  Thanks dear~!

For now, I have to put further Europe stories on hold as I will be MIA for the next couple of days - going on a small excursion with my mum (mother-daughter bonding session!)

More from me later!
